Trophy Competitions

Binney Trophy 'Play with The Expert' pairs competition, an inexperienced player is partnered with an expert player, held on one evening in November. Bounton Cup Fixed teams of up to 6 members, Last Wednesday of the month, January - November inclusive except February. All 10 scores (Local Points) count. Glanville Trophy Random teams,for Monday night players, held on 3rd Monday of the month, August - November. Pair with best 3 out of 4 IMPs score wins. Gould Bowl & Plate Pairs competition, 3rd Friday of month January to November inclusive. Butler scoring, best 6 scores count. Griggs Cup All Wednesday and Friday evenings. Individual with best 15 scores with at least 3 partners. Horsham 1000 Trophy Play with the experts pairs. An inexperienced player partners an experienced player. Must have less than 200 masterpoints (club master) to qualify as a non-expert. Jane Smith Trophy All regular club sessions, individual (under 10,000 masterpoints) with most LPs earned in year to win. Searles Cup All regular club sessions, individual (any rank) with most LPs earned in year to win. Morris Cup Pairs competition held on the 1st Friday of each month January to November, best 8 results count. Peggy Smith Trophy Pivot teams, held on a Thursday in April. Rosebowl Pairs competition, played on all Wednesday evenings. Individual (below 5000 masterpoints) with most LPs in year to win. Sargeant Cup Pairs competition, played over all Friday evenings. Individual (below 25 green points) with most LPs earned in year to win. Stephenson Cup Mixed pairs competition, held on 2nd Friday in December.

Regular Programme

Monday: Beginners evening plus informal duplicate for improvers 7:15pm-9:30pm. Advisors available. Tuesday: Simpl(ish) systems (level 2) duplicate 7pm-10pm. Wednesday: Duplicate 7:30pm-10:45pm except last Wednesday of month which is Bounton Cup (teams). Thursday: Duplicate Pairs (Improvers) 7pm-10pm. Friday: Duplicate Pairs 7:30pm-10:45pm. Tea and coffee is available on all evenings at no extra cost. A standby is available on Friday evenings for people who wish to turn up without a partner. It is strongly recommended that pairs put their names down in the appropriate book in advance for the Wednesday and Friday duplicate sessions. If you put your name down and find you cannot play can you PLEASE try and let someone know in advance.

Bridge Classes

Bridge classes are run at the Forest Community Centre from September onwards each year and people who have not played before are advised to attend a beginners' class before playing on Monday evenings.
